China’s fastener trade in 2017 posted steady recovery with the imports and exports both experiencing positive growth.

According to data from the Customs, China’s fastener exports increased 5.84% to 2,909,178 tons with value of 5,053,600,435 US dollars in 2017, up 11.30% year-on-year. The top five fastener export destinations were US, Japan, Russia, Germany and South Korea.

Zhejiang was the largest exporting province with the fastener export value of 2.5 billion US dollars in 2017. The other top exporting areas were Jiangsu (619 million US dollars), Guangdong (528 million US dollars), Shanghai city (498 million US dollars) and Shandong (241 million US dollars).

In 2017, China's fastener imports rose 6.31% year-on-year to 322,682 tons with the value of 3,121,273,161 US dollars, up 6.25% year-on-year. The top five fastener import origins were Japan, Germany, US, Chinese Taiwan and South Korea.

Shanghai city was the largest importer of fasteners in China with the import value of 609 million US dollars. The other top importing areas were Jiangsu (544 million US dollars), Guangdong (483 million US dollars), Beijing city (214 million US dollars) and Liaoning (199 million US dollars).
