According to China Customs, China’s steel, iron or copper standard fastener exports in July jumped 31.3 percent to $462 million with export volume up 13.9 percent to 252 thousand tons and the average price up 15.3 percent to $1836/ton year on year. The export value, volume and average price rose 8.9 percent, 6.0 percent and 2.7 percent over June in 2011, respectively.

China’s steel, iron or copper standard fastener exports for the first seven months of 2011 gained 39.6 percent to $2.67 billion with export volume up 20.8 percent to 1.50 million tons and the average price up 15.6 percent to $1771.5/ton year on year. However, the growth rate of steel, iron or copper standard fastener exports in value saw a decline of 5 percent and down around 25 percent in volume compared with that of the same period in 2010.


Fastener Exports for Jan-Jul 2011

US, Russia and Japan were the main importers of China’s steel, iron or copper standard fasteners in terms of export value for the first seven months of 2011. Export to US, Russia and Japan rose 38.1 percent to $474 million, 81.7 percent to $198 million and 22.3 percent to $172 million, respectively. Market share in America remained stable of 17.8 percent while in Russia was of 7.4 percent increased from 5.7 percent over 2010. But Market share in Japan declined to 6.5 percent from 7.4 percent in 2010. Export to the top importers in value reached $1.39 billion for the first seven months, taking up 52.1 percent of China’s total fastener export value.
