According to China Customs, China’s steel, iron or copper standard fastener exports for the first six months of 2011 jumped 41.5 percent to $2.2 billion with the export volume up 22.2 percent to 1.25 million tons and the average price up 15.8 percent to $1761/ton. Steel, iron or copper standard fastener export in June increased 27.6 percent to $425 million with export volume up 12.0 percent to 238, 000 tons. The average export price gained 13.9 percent to $1788/ton.
 

Export value for China’s steel, iron or copper standard fastener basically showed the same as that of the first half of 2010 which rose 40.5 percent while export volume increased 22.4 percent compared with a 45.4 percent gain in 2010. Export price jumped around 15.7 percent in first six months of 2011 while it decreased 3.3 percent in the same period of 2010.

US, Russia and Japan were the main importers of China’s steel, iron or copper standard fasteners in terms of export value for the first six months of 2011. Export to US, Russia and Japan rose 44.7 percent to $391 million, 82.9 percent to $158 million and 23.4 percent to $146 million, respectively. America’s market share remained stable while Russia’s increased 7.2 percent from 5.5 percent and Japan’s increased 7.6 percent from 6.6 percent. Export to the top importers in value reached $1.15 billion for the first half of year, taking up 52.3 percent of China’s total fastener export value.
