U.S. fastener imports and exports both declined in September. Fastener imports decreased 3% to $373,421,398 and fastener exports dropped 6% to $298,966,912 in September compared with the previous month.

The top five exporters to the U.S. in September were China Taiwan (up 2.66% month-on-month to $118.12 million); Mainland China (down 8.31% to $82.04 million); Japan (down 17.57% to $47.51 million); Germany (down 8.21% to $23.13 million); and Canada (down 0.60% to $21.50 million).

The top five consumers of U.S. fasteners during the month were Canada (down 5.90% month-on-month to $90.72 million); Mexico (down 7.97% to $90.20 million); Mainland China (up 6.01% to $15.53 million); UK (down 8.49% to $11.85 million) and Brazil (up 16.93% to 8.84 million).
