U.S. Fastener Imports and Exports both Fall in February

Both U.S. fastener imports and exports fell in February 2013. Imports of U.S. fasteners in February dropped 10% to $351,982,264, while exports of U.S. fasteners in February declined 2% to $275,725,950.

The top five consumers of U.S. fasteners during the month were Canada (down 3.92% month-on-month to $84.10 million); Mexico (down 3.12% to $83.52 million); UK (down 9.21% to $13.01 million); Mainland China (down 3.91% to $9.59 million); and France (up 9.17% to $8.93 million).

The top five exporters to the U.S. in February were China Taiwan (down 17.41% to $106.24 million); Mainland China (down 12.07% to $74.46 million); Japan (up 8.14% to $62.27 million); Germany (down 8.89% to $21.68 million); and Canada (down 15.79% to $17.76 million).
