The 15th Annual National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo, North America’s Largest Fastener Expo, kicked off on October 20, 2011 local time at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

This was the third time that China Fastener Info (CFI) visited USA in 2011 and the fifth time that CFI as the supporting media attended the Las Vegas Fastener Expo. With the latest China Fastener Directory 2012 (CFD2012), CFI aimed to do its utmost to help China’s fastener companies explore the American market and recommended more quality suppliers to American buyers.

This year’s edition of the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo features 75,700 square feet of the latest products and services offered by 580 companies throughout the USA and many other countries around the world including Belgium, Canada, China mainland, India, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherland, Saudi Arabia, Spain, China Taiwan and the United Kingdom, in over 700 booths. It’s estimated that there more than 100 exhibitors were from China mainland and 80 exhibitors were from Taiwan. There were over 80 new companies in this year’s exhibition.

This year’s Expo also featured a greatly expanded Machinery & Tooling Section which includes 43 domestic and international companies.

Susan A. Hurley, General Manager of the Fastener Expo said, “The new venue is aiming to attract more exhibitors and inject more vitality into the show. “The new, earlier Expo dates and location certainly seem to be appealing to our exhibitors and we believe these changes will be equally pleasing to Expo visitors. Our previous location was not convenient to nearly as many hotels, casinos, restaurants and entertainment venues that our new Expo site affords”, said Jim Bannister and Mike McGuire, General Partners.

The U.S. is the important market to China’s fastener companies and China is the second biggest exporter of fasteners to the U.S. Imports from China to the U.S. rose 57.2 percent to 80,809,667 dollars in May 2011.

As usual, China Fastener Info paid visit to exhibitors from China mainland. After conversation with them, we found fastener exports in China were flat in the second half of the year. They felt highly pressed for the mid- or long-term orders although we could receive some orders recently.

Besides, news of the slow recovery and unpromising prospect of America’ economy could be found frequently in newspapers. For these reasons, many China’s companies wanted to probed the market so as to make good preparation for the cooperation in the future.
