Jiaxing's fastener exports increased by 20.48% year-on-year to USD 479 million in the first half of 2017, while fastener imports grew by 15.73% year-on-year to USD 15 million.

Jiaxing Fastener Export Highlights in H1

Major export destinations saw significant growth in value. U.S., EU and Russia remained the Top 3 export markets for Jiaxing fasteners, accounting for 62.7% of the total fastener exports. The fastener exports to those three countries reached USD 290 million, up 36.47% year-on-year. Since EU fastener repealed anti-dumping duty imposed on Chinese fasteners, Jiaxing companies has resumed fastener exports to the EU gradually. In the first half of 2017, exports of fasteners to EU, U.S. and Russia reached USD 105 million, USD 129 million and USD 56 million respectively, up 46.21%, 17.19% and 55.35% year-on-year respectively.

The export value increased year-on-year for most leading exporters. In the first half of 2017, 483 Jiaxing fastener companies had export performance, an increase of 114 companies year-on-year. There were 9 companies with an export value of more than USD 10 million, compared with 6 companies in the same period of 2016.

The general trade was still the main trading method. The export value by general trade in the first half achieved USD 439 million, accounting for 94.95 % of Jiaxing's fastener exports, up 1.71% compared with the same period of 2016.

The export price of major fasteners surged. In the first half of 2017, the average export price for the iron or steel fasteners increased by 11.16% to USD 1,145/ton; the average export price for the copper fasteners climbed 2.27% to USD 8,466/ton; the average export price for the aluminum fasteners decreased 34.9% to USD 2,958/ton.
