According to data from Ministry of Finance Japan, Japan’s fastener exports in volume rose 5.4 percent year-on-year to 30,552 tons, and up 10.5 percent over the last month. Export value totaled 26,083.4 million yen, up 5 percent year-on-year, and up 10.4 percent over the last month.

The main consumers of Japan's fasteners were Mainland China, the U.S. and Thailand.

However, Japan’s fastener imports in volume declined 1 percent year-on-year to 22,825 tons, and up 15.2 percent compared with June. Import value increased 0.3 percent year-on-year to 8,437.6 million yen, and up 9.8 percent over the last month.

The main exporters of fasteners to Japan were Mainland China, China Taiwan and the U.S.
