Manufacturing World Japan 2013, one of the world’s largest manufacturing exhibitions, opened from June 19-21, 2013 at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan (organized by Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd.). China Fastener Info (CFI) attended the show again with the most popular magazine China Fastener Directory (CFD). This was the 59th time for CFD to attend the international exhibition.

Manufacturing World Japan 2013 is the collective name for 4 different shows: 17th Mechanical Components & Materials Technology Expo (M-Tech), 4th Medical Device Development & Manufacturing Expo (MEDIX), 24th Design Engineering & Manufacturing Solutions Expo (DMS), and 21st 3D & Virtual Reality Expo (IVR). CFI’s booth is at the 17th Mechanical Components & Materials Technology Expo (M-Tech) (Booth: 34-23).

As a precious opportunity where a wide range of manufacturing technologies and also virtual reality products are gathering, the show increasingly attracts end-users as well as professionals year by year. This edition attracted 1930 exhibitors from 24 countries over the world. There were many pavilions in the M-Tech Expo including 1 Thailand Pavilion (19 exhibitors), 2 Korea Pavilions (8 exhibitors, 12 exhibitors), 2 China Taiwan Pavilions (10 exhibitors, 18 exhibitors) and 1 Mainland China Pavilion (9 exhibitors). Companies from Mainland China were Eagle Metalware, Zhejiang Qifeng, Shanghai Jingyang, Ningbo Jinding Fastener, Hangzhou Pingcheng Machinery, etc.

M-Tech gathered all kinds of mechanical parts such as bearings, fasteners, mechanical springs and metal, and plastic processing technology. The exhibition attracted professionals from design, development, manufacturing, production engineering, procurement and quality control departments.

China is Japan’s large trade partner for fasteners. Japan imported around 215,993 ton fasteners to 35.8 billion yen from Mainland China in 2012. China was Japan’s largest importing countries of origin for fasteners. Meanwhile, fastener exports from Japan to Mainland China amounted to 67,140 tons and 56.7 billion yen in value in 2012. Mainland China became the second largest importer of Japan’s fasteners.

As usual, China Fastener Info’s booth received lot of visitors. Some visitors came to our booth with samples in the hope of finding the suitable suppliers from us. Many visitors were quite familiar with CFD magazines and though highly of it. Some said they download every issue from our website www.chinaFastenerinfo.net, and found it very useful. Some hoped that we can send them every new issue to them when the magazine is published.

In addition to the CFD, visitors were quite interested in the upcoming Fastener Trade Show 2013—the 10th Fastener Trade Show Guangzhou (July 3-4, 2013, Guangzhou Poly World Trade Expo Center), the 9th Fastener Trade Show Chengdu (July 18-19, 2013, Chengdu Century City New International Convention & Exhibition Center), and the 11th Fastener Trade Show Suzhou (October 30-31, Suzhou International Expo Center).
