Ukraine metal product output soared compared with that of 2009 due to the gradual recovery of global economy. Almost all the metal product output saw a rise of about 20 percent (nails excluded), and fasteners surged around 70 percent.

It was estimated that the total output of Ukraine metal products for 2010 was around 270,000 tones with 20,000 tones are wires. Industrial fastener output reached 1,600 tones while wire ropes totaled 29,400 tones. Although the output of nails reached 13,300 tones, it saw a decrease of 14.3 percent from 2009.

Market share of the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2010 rose to 56,000 tones from 13,000 tones in 2009. Ukrainian domestic market performed well in 2010 with the total orders increased 27.1 percent, going from 156,300 tones in 2009 to 123,000 tones in 2010. Russia has been the main importers of Ukraine metal products.
