National Technical Committee 85 on Fasteners Standardization Administration of China held a conference in Ningbo on January 14 to set up the national standard of expansion anchors for use in concrete. The standard of "Expansion Anchors for Use in Concrete", drawn up by Ningbo Anchor Fasteners Industrial Co., Ltd., was approved by over 10 experts from National Technical Committee. Currently, National Technical Committee has listed it into national standard project. It is reported that Ningbo Anchor is the first Ningbo fastener company that undertakes the establishment of national standard. According to the statistics, there are now more than 1000 fastener companies in Ningbo City. The annual fastener exports in Ningbo total over 600 million US dollars, accounting for 1/4 of the total fastener exports in China. There are 20 Ningbo fastener companies that reach an annual turnover of over 100 million yuan. Ningbo Anchor is the leading company in the area of expansion anchors for use in concrete, with product quality of top state-level. At present, national standard of expansion anchors for use in concrete is not available in China. Industrial people consider that the participation of setting up national standard in anchors will regulate production, crack down on counterfeit and poor quality products and build up national brands, as well as strongly improve the competitive edge of Ningbo fastener companies.
